I've been researching short film clips from photographers, including Guy Bourdin and Erwin Blumenfeld, as I think the results from photographers seem to be more condensed and graphic than filmmakers. The video below is from Blumenfeld's experiments in advertising from the late 50's. I especially like the second part with the wind machine and flowers. It is something short and relatively simple to execute, but slightly surreal that I'm trying to achieve.

Ah, the days when chugging away on a fag was cool, well it wasn't but you know what i mean! Have you seen the underwater fashion shoots? I don't know who did them but i seem to remember it making the news when i was a teenager, you might find those interesting.

Yes I have, I was going to post Hamish Morrow's work in that area but decided against it since it's been done quite a bit...
they still look lovely and ethereal though.
hey Joanne,
Blumenfeld's video looks amazingly beautiful, and so simple as well! the wind and the flowers is my favourite part as, and the colors really give a surrealist feeling to the images. It seems like a great source for inspiration.
That's my favourite part too!
