That really is stunning, i was quite bowled over by that. I guess the catwalk will always have its place, but it it is good to see something original like that, instead of the usual waifs trudging along...i was wondering, are you interested in the promotion of fashion or actually getting involved with the designing of collections? (it's just i remember a certain sewing machine from Argos!)My Mum was a haute couturier in a former life, worked for the house of Worth, Hardy Amies, Christian Dior...

Yes the Argos machine story is now legend! Wow that's really impressive. House of Worth is deemed as being the start of 'fashion' as we know it.
Would she have kept any references or anything from that period?
Here's the video I mentioned which I like because it's not obvious it's underwater.

Hi J, i'll ask her, but i can imagine that if she's kept anything it'll be in the loft, and that's a fate worse than death, people go in, they never come out...
She's got some great stories though; Winston Churchills daughter slumped pissed outside, (happened regularly) they would take her in, press her clothes and throw coffee down her neck, all in an effort to keep the Churchill family name sacred. Then there was Madame Berray, the designer who would get 'designers block' so she would take a sketchbook down to Oxford street and copy everyone elses designs; she would drag my Mum along as a lookout!!
